According to a press release by the Morgantown Police Department, celebrating meant “street parties with the probability of riots and fires.” The Morgantown Police Department had to dispatch riot police armed with “pepper spray and chemical munitions” in order to disperse fans that had “began pushing over street lights on High Street resulting in several thousand dollars worth of damage as well as throwing rocks, beer bottles and other blunt objects at both Public Safety Personnel and their vehicles....

Joel Fitzgerald has faced backlash for his strides to reform Waterloo police that have intensified since last fall when the City Council began pushing for the removal of the department’s emblem. The emblem, a red-bodied, green-eyed griffin, which has adorned officers’ uniforms since the 1960s, has been compared to a KKK symbol. Opinions on the emblem have been split, with the Waterloo Commission on Human Rights saying it evoked fear and distrust among some due to its resemblance to a hate group symbol....

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the barbershop on the 23900 block of Franz Road in Katy, outside Houston, Texas, on Sunday evening, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said on Twitter. The male employee was apparently shot at around 5 p.m. by a customer who then fled the barbershop, according to the sheriff’s office. “Deputies are at a barber shop in the 23900 block of Franz Rd, where a male employee appears to have been shot by a customer, who then fled....

Ashley Smith recounted the bizarre incident in a viral TikTok post that amassed nearly 252,000 views and over 41,000 likes. In the video, Smith described a Mercedes that started flashing its lights like a police car after Smith honked at the driver for swerving in the middle of the road. A brief clip of the car is shown at the beginning of the viral TikTok. Smith said that the woman driving the supposed cop car indicated she was going to pull her over, but instead just drove away....

North Hollywood man Vage Chavushyan was arrested after the California Highway Patrol served a search warrant on his property, according to ABC7 Los Angeles. The department issued a press release regarding the incident on its Facebook page and also released images of some of the cars that were discovered. “On March 24th, 2022, the California Highway Patrol Southern Division Special Services Vehicle Theft Unit concluded a two-month-long vehicle theft investigation involving a large volume of luxury vehicles,” the press release read....

The demonstrations began after a top court, in a case set in motion by Morawiecki’s questioning of the bloc’s legislative supremacy over member nations, ruled that the Polish Constitution held authority over EU law. Morawiecki took to Twitter to call rumors of Poland leaving the union a “harmful myth” and said that all of the country’s commitments designated by EU law “remain in force,” the AP reported. Galveston Mayor James Yarbrough signed an emergency declaration order on July 1 that closes the beaches for Independence Day weekend. “At this time, based on the current health situation and the guidance of medical professionals, I do not feel it is prudent or responsible to have thousands of visitors descending on Galveston beaches,” Yarbrough said in a statement on Thursday. “Galveston has and always will be a welcoming destination, but the ongoing public health crisis demands our attention and response....
