A video posted by the Sherrif’s Office on Facebook showed how Deputy Aldous was sent to deal with the unruly animals on the intersection of NW 39th Avenue and NW 78th Terrace in the Gainesville area, Florida. Public Information Officer, Art Forgey, told Newsweek: “Our communications center received a call from a citizen reporting an injured hawk on the sidewalk.” Despite the unusual nature of the call, Forgey said that deputies are relatively used to deal with animal-related callouts....

The Fresno Police Department dog, named Argo, sustained multiple lacerations to its back and left eye after being allegedly attacked with a knife by Carlos Castanos, aged 30, who fled from the back of a residence shortly before midday. Police said they received a report that Castanos was holding a woman against her will at the property, and discovered there were warrants out for his arrest. When officers approached the front of the residence, the suspect ran out the back door and jumped a fence, where he was met by the K9 and handler, officer Sturgeon....

Boardman Township Police Department chief Todd Werth named Jospeh Norman Hill, a former resident, as the person they believe is responsible for the death of Bradley Bellino. Hill, who lived on Shadyside Drive in Boardman at the time of the murder, died in Yucaipa, California, in 2019, according to NBC affiliate WFMJ 21. On Tuesday, Werth praised the efforts of former chief Jeffrey Patterson, who reopened the case in 2001, and sent Bellino’s clothing that did not have DNA that belonged to him to the state Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation....

The LAPD officer challenged staff after making the discovery in Diamond Bar, in eastern Los Angeles County, California, on Friday. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) is investigating the incident and has collected CCTV footage from the Starbucks, where the police officer ordered his coffee. The department will survey the video content to find any alleged suspects. The police officer supposedly used his police credit union debit card to buy the drink....

The 8-0 decision by the Chicago Police Board on Thursday concluded that Kelly “pulled the trigger” in the January 2010 incident, which left his partner Michael LaPorta with permanent disabilities, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. Kelly claimed that LaPorta shot himself in the head in a suicide attempt following a night of drinking. Investigators initially believed Kelly and declined to prosecute him. Since the shooting, LaPorta has been unable to care for or support himself....

Lewiston Police Officer Nicholas Meserve was found dead inside his home on February 8. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later ruled that the 34-year-old died as a result of acute fentanyl intoxication. According to an independent investigation into his death, the officer was filmed pocketing fentanyl that had fallen on the ground three weeks earlier on January 18. The incident was recorded via a Lewiston police patrol vehicle camera during the arrest of suspect Jamil Dabson....

Officers with the Nigeria Police Force raided the facilities, finding not only the 19 women, but also four children who were also being held at the facilities, according to a report from the BBC. Two women operating as untrained nurses at the facilities were reportedly arrested, but police are still searching for the main suspect in the case, who has been identified by police as “Madam Oluchi” from Mbano, Imo State....
