Yes, President Barack Obama has hopped on the Cubs bandwagon. That’s notable, because, earlier this year, when the president joined Twitter (@POTUS, of course), he immediately followed all of Chicago’s major sports teams — the White Sox, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks — except the Cubs. Trump’s re-election campaign has alleged that Biden and Harris are attempting the undercut public confidence in the vaccine. President Trump said once the vaccine is approved by the FDA, it would be immediately distributed. That distribution plan, Trump said, could be put into effect as soon as October. After announcing the coronavirus vaccine distribution program, Trump alleged that Biden’s campaign was guilty of spreading misinformation. “I’m calling on Biden to stop promoting his anti-vaccine theories because all they’re doing is hurting the importance of what we’re doing,” Trump said during a press conference on Wednesday....

These are the words President Donald Trump spoke on August 14, 2017. President Trump has consistently and repeatedly condemned white supremacy, anti-Semitism and all forms of hate. The president unequivocally condemned such bigotry four years ago in a presidential debate when Chris Wallace asked him about the issue. Then-candidate Trump stated, “I totally disavow the Ku Klux Klan. I totally disavow David Duke.” President Trump has continued to condemn white supremacy, including during and after the 2020 debate with Wallace....

Trump’s comments came after he announced that federal law enforcement agents would be sent to Chicago in an effort to curb violence in the city. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot asked Trump not to send the agents in. In Portland, agents have been observed taking protesters off the streets and placing them into unmarked vehicles. Lightfoot said Wednesday that she would not allow “Donald Trump’s troops to come to Chicago and terrorize our residents....

Kazakh media reported the protesters were armed with clubs and shields as they descended on the city hall building, which includes the mayor’s office. Netblocks reported Kazakhstan was experiencing an internet blackout, but Russia’s Tass news agency continued to report on the situation. According to Tass, the city hall building also caught fire during the demonstrations. Though the protests have no clear leader or demands, the motivation likely stems from the recent increased price in liquefied gas....

The outburst from a member of the public occurred during a procession from the Palace of Holyroodhouse, where the queen’s body was transferred from Balmoral Castle on Saturday, to St. Giles’ Cathedral before the service. During official coverage of the procession, a young man was recorded yelling “Andrew! You’re a sick old man!” before the audio was faded out by broadcasters. Royal author Nigel Cawthorne warns in upcoming book Prince Andrew: Epstein and the Palace how the FBI may not stop at a witness testimony. The U.S. Department of Justice wants to force the Duke of York to give an interview under oath, but is currently treating him as a witness not a suspect. They could change that assessment based on his answers to questions, if they are able to force him to take the stand at a Magistrate’s Court in Britain....

The Duke of York insisted through lawyers that he is “not above the law” after the Department of Justice made a formal request to the British government to force him to testify. Instead he claims he did offer to give a statement, three times this year, but none were accepted. His legal team accused New York prosecutor Geoffrey Berman of breaching confidentiality rules by telling journalists Andrew was offering “zero cooperation....

Lord Stevens, the former commissioner of London’s Metropolitan Police, has told the Daily Mail that he spoke to the prince about a note that Diana had written in 1995 saying she would die as a result of “brake failure.” Diana died in a car crash in Paris in 1997 along with her lover, Dodi Al-Fayed, in a tragedy that would become a focus of many conspiracy theories, with some accusing the British royal family of planning her death....
