The normally biennial event was pushed back a year from its 2021 date due to the cancellation of the Ryder Cup in 2020. All the more reason for both the United States and international teams to give it their all this week in a team-based competition that comprises fourball, foursome and singles matches....

On a frustrating night at a sold-out Red Bull Arena, the Americans wasted chances, made defensive blunders and watched some questionable referee decisions go against them. The unnamed Spanish national was found allegedly trespassing at Royal Lodge, where the Duke of York lives, on Monday morning. The Buckinghamshire estate is less than five miles from Queen Elizabeth II’s residence at Windsor Castle. Officers initially arrested the woman, who reportedly claimed she was engaged to the prince, before she was sectioned under the Mental Health Act, police said. The Sun reported she had been let in by security who had been persuaded by her polished appearance and claims to have a lunch appointment....

The move came 24 hours after a U.S. judge ruled Prince Andrew would face the lawsuit against him regarding sexual assault, filed by Virginia Giuffre in New York State. Prince Andrew has repeatedly denied the claims made against him. The removal of “HRH,” meaning His or Her Royal Highness, for members of the royal family and their military titles is extremely uncommon, but it is not the first time it has occurred....

Lobbying scandals can be complex and difficult to follow at the best of times and doubly when they involve an arcane and secretive institution such as the U.K. honors system. However, on Sunday morning Prince Charles woke up to calls in the British press for a police investigation into one of his closest aides. Michael Fawcett is accused of offering to help a Saudi tycoon get a knighthood and British citizenship after a donation to Charles’ charity, The Prince’s Foundation, where Fawcett was until one day ago the chief executive....

The future king watched as the Caribbean island removed Queen Elizabeth II as head of state and swore in its first president, Dame Sandra Mason. When the move was announced in September 2020, Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley said: “The time has come to fully leave our colonial past behind.” And the Prince of Wales did not shy away from referencing that colonial past in his own address to the presidential inauguration ceremony, watched by Mottley, Mason and Barbadian popstar Rihanna, among others....

The U.K. Government has removed the majority of coronavirus rules in England, as the nation attempts a return to normality despite soaring case numbers. Meghan Markle is perhaps best known for her role on the television drama Suits, in which she plays associate Rachel Zane. The pair confirmed their engagement last month. Speaking to Bloomberg’s In The City podcast, Brown discussed the condition of the monarchy in the year Britain celebrates Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, her 70th year on the throne. During the podcast, Brown said that “the monarchy seems more reassuring than ever, but that monarchy is at a frail point because everybody knows this is the last jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II and the question of how they will feel British after the queen dies is a big one....

Ahead of the 25th anniversary of the high-speed car crash in Paris that killed Diana along with her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed, and driver Henri Paul, British broadcaster Channel 4 is airing Investigating Diana: Death in Paris, which examines the incident and its potential causes. Following the crash in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in the early morning hours of August 31, 1997, two inquests were held. One took place in France during the weeks immediately after the incident, and the second was conducted in Britain in 2008....
