Officers saw a 25-year-old man on 1200 6th Avenue in downtown San Diego at 5:48 p.m., the San Diego Police Department said in a statement. Police said the man, who they described as Hispanic, was a suspect in a robbery that took place on June 21. According to police, the man had pointed a gun and two officers discharged their service weapons. He was struck and taken to a local hospital and a gun was recovered at the scene, police added....

In several videos posted to Twitter, protesters can be seen filling the streets outside of Graham’s home, yelling “wake him up” while banging pots and pans. “We’re here with your wake up call @LindseyGrahamSC RBG’s seat will be filled after the election,” Sunrise Movement DC, one of the organizers of the protest, wrote in a tweet showing protesters outside of the Senator’s home. The protest was carried out by The Real Facebook Oversight Board (RFOB), a group that is part of the United Kingdom-based nonprofit investigative group The Citizens. The protest was intended “to draw attention to dangerous disinfo on Facebook,” according to a Wednesday morning RFOB tweet. The group posted photos of the fake body bags, which were the same color as the Facebook logo, on Twitter. Each body bag also had a sign attached that included the Facebook logo and the words, “disinformation kills....

Those individuals who could not enter the building attempted to push past police to enter the building which led to a shoving altercation and some police using their tasers. This came as the group looked to speak with Interior Department Secretary Deb Haaland who was not in the building at the site of the sit-in, The Post wrote. The U.S. government is appealing in the U.K.’s High Court to have a judge’s decision from January overturned which barred Assange being extradited to face espionage charges. These are linked to the publishing of thousands of classified documents through his site. District Judge Vanessa Baraitser said that Assange would face “harsh” prison conditions if extradited to the U.S and there was a “substantial” risk he would kill himself. On Wednesday, Assange’s father, John Shipton, and partner Stella Moris joined the crowd of demonstrators who gathered to show their support, which also included Chinese artist Ai Weiwei....

The latest date from the National Police Chiefs Council shows that 32,329 Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) were issued in England and Wales between March 27 and December 20, 2020.
