The paper obviously hopes the cover of its Monday issue, and its plea to the Pope, “Dear Francis: Our team is clearly in need of divine intervention,” reaches him before his stop in Philadelphia later this week.
It’s not the first time Eagles fans have asked for Pope Francis’ help. In August, fans started a petition asking the pope to bless the knees of oft-injured quarterback Sam Bradford.
