The Phillies on Friday announced that they are calling up prospect Maikel Franco.

In 33 games at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Franco (.355/.384/.539) had four home runs and 24 RBIs.
Rated the Phillies No. 3 prospect by MLB.com, Franco is expected to play third base with the last-place Phillies (13-23). Philadelphia third basemen (.264/.324/.364) have only two home runs and six RBIs in 36 games.
The Phillies begin a three-game home series against the Diamondbacks on Friday night.
