The Phillies were playing the Astros at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, but one hapless fan found himself far away from the action as he settled in to watch the game at Minute Maid Park… in Houston.

TikTok user J.Lyman shared his mistake on the social media site and soon found his video going viral as hundreds of thousands of people interacted with his faux pas.

In the video, which starts with the screen in selfie mode, the fan sits in the stadium with his Phillies shirt on, captioned: “I was wondering why WS tickets were so cheap”

Lyman then panned the camera around to a nearly empty stadium in which a number of fans were enjoying the game on the big screen.

He wrote alongside the video: “No one told me they played in philly tonight! Go Phillies!”

Among the comments were those who were wondering why the stadium was so empty.

There were plenty that shared the reason why, with one replying: “It’s a watch party and [the] stadium is only partly opened just to view it on the big screen.”

Lyman said that it was a bargain though, telling those commenting that it was only “$2” to go there to watch the game.

He then added that it was actually worth doing for the experience, replying to one commenter: “It was a great time! Definitely recommend”

After watching the game from Minute Maid Park, Lyman showed that lightning could strike twice as he then found himself at another Houston stadium.

This time he posted a similar video of himself with the caption: “I thought I was going to WS game five”.

Lyman is then seen shaking his head before flipping the camera to see the Houston Texans celebrating a touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football.

He captioned the clip: “It happened again…”

At least this time though he got to see his team from Philly do the business on Houston with the Eagles continuing to soar with a 29-17 win, running their record to 8-0.

Lyman was still hoping for a reversal in the Phillies’ fortunes before they arrived in Houston and posted a clip on TikTok in which he shared a rallying cry for his team.

He said: “I am not going to lie, Houston got the best of us last night, but [the] Phillies will be coming in strong tonight. I am predicting a win not only from the Phillies but I am saying that the Eagles are going to take 2-0 in Houston.

“Philadelphia is coming and it is going to be an exciting night.”

Newsweek reached out to Lyman and asked if he would be going to Game 6, when the Phillies look to level the series in Houston.

Unfortunately, it would seem that the dream of seeing his beloved team is over as he replied: “No I don’t have tickets [sad face emoji].”

Maybe he will have to complete a full circle of the journey and watch the Phillies on the big screen at Citizen Bank Park and keep his fingers crossed that they take it to a deciding seventh game on Sunday.
