With the deal, the Phillies found the first suitor for one of their aging veterans and the Dodgers replaced Hanley Ramirez.

Todd Zolecki of MLB.com said that the deal is close, but not yet finalized.

Rollins, 36, waived his no-trade clause to complete the deal.

The veteran batted .243 with 17 home runs and 55 RBIs last season, his 14th with the Phillies. Rollins is the franchise’s all-time hits leader.

The Dodgers sought a shortstop after Ramirez, 31, signed with the Red Sox last month as a free agent.

It is not yet known which player(s) are being sent to Philadelphia in the trade.
