Foster suffered a groin injury, initially thought to be non-serious, during Monday’s training camp practice, but news broke Tuesday that Foster will require surgery. Houston is hopeful Foster can return at some point during the regular season.

Thomas, 30, spent his entire eight-year career in New Orleans before being released in March. He rushed for just 222 yards on 45 carries last season, scoring two touchdowns. While it appeared he’d be a good fit, he’ll have to continue looking for a new home as a free agent.
