The official PlayStation blog confirms that this Thursday’s presentation will focus on third-party-published games coming to PS4 and PS VR. There will also be a few PS5 game updates on third-party and indie titles we saw in June’s PS5 showcase.
Also, as it’s become customary, PlayStation confirms that there will be no PlayStation Studios updates or any updates around hardware, business, preorders, or dates for the PS5.
PLAYSTATION STATE OF PLAY START TIME
The latest PlayStation State of Play online presentation will begin Thursday, August 6 at 4 p.m. EDT.
PlayStation confirmed on its blog that it will be around 40 minutes long so expect it to last until close to 5 p.m. EDT.
HOW TO WATCH PLAYSTATION STATE OF PLAY ONLINE
Fans can watch the August PlayStation State of Play live on either the gaming company’s Twitch channel, which can be viewed on desktops or via the Twitch app on your mobile device or gaming consoles–minus the Nintendo Switch.
The official PlayStation YouTube channel will also host the live online presentation. Like Twitch fans can watch the stream on desktops or via the YouTube app on mobile devices and all gaming consoles, yes even the Nintendo Switch.
WHAT TO EXPECT
It’s difficult to guess what fans can expect from these presentations, but the wording on PlayStation’s announcement can eliminate some titles from being shown.
Since this presentation will focus on third-party titles coming to PS4, PS VR and PS5, first-party titles like the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn and Spider-Man: Miles Morales won’t likely be shown.
There is a good chance that the yearly sports releases get showcased on Thursday. Titles like Madden 21, NBA 2K21 and more could get new trailers and updates for its games.
Marvel’s Avengers from Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix is set to release on September 4, but with the beta unlocking this weekend for PS4 users we could see a new trailer or new information about Spider-Man’s inclusion as a PlayStation exclusive.
