“The incident reportedly happened in Cleveland in the early hours of Jan. 23 when Salazar and other players were in town for TribeFest,” according to the newspaper.
Indians catcher Roberto Perez was also being investigated, but no complaint has been filed against him, The Plain Dealer reports.
“We are aware of an investigation involving Danny,” Cleveland GM Chris Antonetti said in a statement. “Since this potentially could become a legal matter, we won’t have any additional comment at this time.”
Salazar, 25, was 6-8 for the Indians last season with a 4.25 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 110 innings pitched.
