That mishap didn’t appear as serious as an incident last month in St. Louis, when Malone fell onstage. He was later hospitalized because of rib pain suffered from that fall and was forced to postpone a show in Boston.
While performing his hit song “Psycho” at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, Malone can be seen tripping in a video posted online by TikTok user edwinloseordraw. After limping and hopping on one leg, Malone crouches down and checks out his leg.
In another video posted on Twitter, Malone addressed rolling his ankle.
“Tell you what. There’s little holes in the middle of the stage where fire comes out, which is pretty f**king badass,” Malone can be heard saying in the clip. “I just twisted up my ankle a little bit over on that hole there.”
Malone added, “So if my dance moves aren’t 100 percent, you gotta forgive me tonight, ladies and gentlemen. I’m-a do my best.”
After Malone fell during the St. Louis show on September 17, he continued for several songs before he went to a hospital, according to reports. The “White Iverson” rapper later spoke about the fall in a video he shared on Twitter.
“I turn the corner and bust my ass, and it winded me pretty good, got me pretty good,” the Grammy-nominated musician said. “We just got back from the hospital, and everything’s good. Everything’s good. They gave me some pain meds and everything so we can keep kicking ass on the tour.”
After rumors circulated online that Malone had broken several ribs in St. Louis, his team posted a message to dispel the talk.
On September 18, Malone’s manager, Dre London, wrote on Instagram that X-rays of the artist’s ribs revealed they were only bruised.
“In true Posty fashion loving his fans he finished the show!” London wrote. “I truly don’t know any artist like him. Talking to him few hrs ago he was still saying ‘Dre don’t go hard on em,’ explaining more then saying ’the show must go on!’ Let’s all keep him in our thoughts as we know he will wake up in pain.”
Malone and his team have not reported any injuries that resulted from twisting his ankle in Atlanta.
Malone has 15 more performances scheduled in the United States for his Twelve Carat Tour before he brings the show overseas for dates in Abu Dhabi, New Zealand and Australia.
