The jackpot stood at $322 million, but went unclaimed, meaning it will rise to $332 million (with a cash value of $240 million) for the next Powerball drawing on August 31.
But although no one claimed the top prize, there were some big winners.
Four players matched five white balls correctly to win $1 million each. Another lucky player from South Dakota also matched five white balls, but doubled their winnings to $2 million with a Power Play purchase.
Another 14 matched four numbers and the Powerball for $50,000 each, with another eight doubling their winnings to $100,000 thanks to a Power Play.
How to play Powerball
Each ticket costs $2 per play, with players selecting five numbers from 1 to 69, in addition to one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. In certain circumstances, players can also multiply non-jackpot prizes by using the Power Play option for an additional $1.
Drawings usually take place twice a week on a Wednesday and Saturday night, at 10:59 p.m. ET. Each draw is broadcast live from the lottery studio which is located in Tallahassee, Florida.
Until recently, winners in New Jersey were required to provide proof of identity, but now are able to stay anonymous under a new law that was signed by Governor Phil Murphy.
