Nobody won the Powerball jackpot last night, so the grand prize will roll over to Saturday night’s draw where it will be worth an estimated $68 million with a cash option of $55.6 million.

However, one player from Minnesota matched five numbers to win $1 million and one player from New Jersey matched five numbers using the Power Play and won $2 million. Eight players matched four numbers and the Power Ball and won $50,000 each and one player used the Power Play so won $200,000.

More than 500 players won $100 by matching either four numbers or three numbers and the Power Ball, and nearly 200 players won $400 each by using the Power Play.

Hundreds of thousands of players won smaller prizes in last night’s Powerball drawing. More than 20,000 players won $7 by matching either three numbers or two numbers and the Power Ball and more than 6,000 players won $28 using the Power Play.

Finally, more than 200,000 players won $4 by matching either one number and the Power Ball or just the Power Ball, and more than 73,000 players won $16 using the Power Play.

How to play the Powerball lottery

The next Powerball draw will take place on Saturday, May 9, at 10.59 p.m. ET. To play the Powerball lottery, purchase a ticket from a licensed lottery retailer up to one hour before the draw, but note that sales deadlines vary by lottery jurisdiction. Additionally, some lottery jurisdictions allow their players to purchase tickets online or via a subscription.

Choose five numbers from 1 to 69 for the white balls and select one number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball. You can choose your numbers on a play slip or let the lottery terminal randomly pick your numbers for you.

To win a prize, your ticket must match the numbers drawn. Matching all five numbers and the Power Ball will win you the jackpot while matching just the Power Ball will win you $4.

Powerball players have the option of adding the Power Play to their ticket for an additional $2 per play. The Power Play is randomly selected just before the draw and can be either 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X. The Power Play will multiply all prizes, except for the jackpot, and the Match 5 prize is always multiplied by two regardless of the Power Play number.
