As gamers saw with Madden 21, players who pre-ordered Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ superhero beat-’em-up are eligible to start playing on Tuesday, September 1, three days before the new game’s official release.
However, players who want to start playing as Kamala Khan, the Hulk, Thor and the other Avengers early will need to pre-order now and secure the Deluxe Edition, a Digital PS4 Edition or the Earth’s Mightiest Edition.
HOW TO PRE-ORDER AND PLAY MARVEL’S AVENGERS EARLY
Players who wish to play the game early, will need to pre-order one of three editions through various retailers like GameStop, to ensure they get the game on September 1. We recommend going through the official Marvel’s Avengers site to find a retailer near you.
The first edition that provides early access is the Marvel’s Avengers: Deluxe Edition, includes the exclusive Obsidian Outfit pack for your Avengers, including Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor, Hulk, and Ms. Marvel, along with six exclusive Obsidian-themed nameplates to further customize your gameplay cosmetics. This version of the game costs $79.99.
There is also an exclusive Digital Edition for PS4 owners that fans can pre-order online. You won’t receive as many bonuses, but you’ll get a unique Ms. Marvel nameplate and one thousand credits for Super Hero customization options. That version of the game costs $69.99.
If you’re a PS4 owner and can’t get to a retailer, this is your best option to get the game and start playing early.
As for the Earth’s Mightiest Edition, that’s the ultimate version of Marvel’s Avengers. Not only will it come with a physical copy of the Deluxe Edition—with all the goodies that come with it—those who purchase this version will receive a Hulk bobblehead, Captain America statue and much more. This version is only available for PS4 and Xbox One owners, and is only sold in its physical form, so you’ll have to go and pre-order it through a retailer.
This is the most expensive option to play Marvel’s Avengers early, though, because it will run gamers $199.99.
WHEN CAN YOU START PLAYING MARVEL’S AVENGERS
Players will be able to team up and join the fight early starting on Tuesday, September 1. As for the exact time, the servers will go online at midnight local time, to allow for a roll out of players to log-in to the game.
As for those who purchased the standard edition or were too late to pre-order, you’ll be able to start playing the game on Friday, September 4, at 12 a.m. EDT.
