This season, however, there are some significant changes. Firstly, the games on Boxing Day will mark the return of the Premier League after a six-week absence as a result of the 2022 World Cup being played in Qatar.

Also, the round of matches that usually takes place just after Boxing Day has been scrapped, with many managers having previously complained about fixture congestion.

Games will take place on Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and January 2.
