In addition to the texts Belchick and Hernandez exchanged from Feburary to May 2013, the evidence includes interviews the detectives conducted with Belichick and team owner Robert Kraft. Belichick’s and Kraft’s statements can be found in documents filed with the Fall River, Mass., superior court. Those filings were made public on Monday. Three other Patriots employees also were interviewed during the year-long investigation.
The evidence is connected only to the murder of Lloyd, for which Hernandez was arrested and charged with last year, coinciding with his release from the Patriots on June 26, 2013. The texts with Belichick happened several months after a July 2012 double murder in Boston, for which Hernandez now faces two additional murder counts.
