“We are pleased to announce that further quantities of PS5 consoles will be made available to pre-order at https://bddy.me/33XoUHG and in GameStop stores tomorrow, Friday 9/25,” the video game retailer tweeted out on Thursday.
The announcement gives gamers new hope of obtaining one of the most sought-after pieces of tech in the 2020 holiday season. There are two ways to pre-order a PS5 through GameStop: The first is by ordering the system through GameStop’s official site. GameStop has posted the official link to pre-order in its social media accounts, but it’s not currently live.
As for how to ensure you get the PS5 pre-order you want, there are a few steps to take before you sit in front of a screen.
The first and most obvious tip we’ve got is to have your set-up ready ahead of time. Unfortunately, GameStop didn’t give a time for when the console pre-orders will go live. Since GameStop is allowing for in-store pre-orders this Friday—more on that later—the link may go live around the same time that GameStop stores are open. With the COVID-19 pandemic, stores are opening later than usual, around 12 p.m.. We’ll update this section as soon as we learn more.
Another thing to keep in mind is to use a powerful and fast browser. Whether it’s your PC or your phone, make sure you have the pre-order link handy so you can quickly get on the landing page before it inevitably crashes.

As for gamers looking to get their PS5 pre-order in-store, you’ll want to locate your local GameStop and check when they open. You can use GameStop’s store locator for the best results.
Gamers will then want to arrive at the store before it opens to ensure their place in line. Also, be aware that GameStops are allowing only a limited number of people in the store at one time, and the hours are likely different. Check with your local retailer so you can plan ahead.
Both the PS5 standard and digital editions will release November 12.
